Paul Buckmaster

Grammy Award-winning Composer & Arranger
Los Angeles, California

Educated at the Conservatorio di Musica in Naples, Italy and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Paul Buckmaster began his career by composing, arranging, orchestrating, and playing on such early-70s hits as David Bowie's "Space Oddity," Elton John's "Your Song," Carly Simon's "You're So Vain," and Harry Nilsson's "Without You." In 1972, he was invited to New York to study and work with Miles Davis. Since then he has been credited on more than 100 albums, working with popular acts such as The Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, Counting Crows, Faith Hill, 10,000 Maniacs, Keith Urban, and Third Day. In 2002 he was awarded the Grammy for Best Arranger for his work on Train's "Drops of Jupiter." He has worked on dozens of movies, including The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Midnight Crossing (1987), Twelve Monkeys (1995), and Mulan (1998), as well as on dozens of television shows, including Matlock, Snoops, and Eerie, Indiana.
