Battle of Boydton Plank Road

American Civil War Battle (1864)

The Battle of Boydton Plank Road, fought October 27 and 28, 1864 was a failed attempt by the Union Army to cut a vital supply line to Petersburg, Virginia during the Siege of Petersburg.

Though the battle was not a staunch victory for either side, because it was a Union attempt to sever a Confederate supply line, and because the attempt failed, it is considered a Confederate Victory.
