Battle of Glendale

American Major Civil War Battle (1862)

The Battle of Glendale was part of the Peninsula Campaign and the Seven Days Battles where Confederate Generals A.P. Hill and James Longstreet converged on the retreating Union Army and routed George McClellan's Union Army. After the Union army sealed the break in their lines and were under the protection of gunboats, they held until night fall and retreated and fortified their position at what would become the Battle of Malvern Hill.
