Florence Nightingale
British Nurse (1820-1910)
Florence Nightingale was born into a wealthy British family in 1820. She felt that she had a divine calling to become a nurse in 1837. She committed herself to nursing from that day, and she became famous during the Crimean War for her work with the wounded on the battlefield.
