American 10th U. S. President (1790-1862)
John Tyler, Jr. (March 29, 1790 – January 18, 1862) was the tenth President of the United States (1841-1845). He was the first to obtain that office via succession after the death of William Henry Harrison . Tyler was also the first and one of only two (along with Andrew Johnson) to have no party affiliation during part of his term.
