On This Very Spot on the weekend of April 16-19, 2005, a library and museum dedicated to the life and career of Abraham Lincoln was officially opened by President George W. Bush.
On This Very Spot is displayed one of five surviving original copies of The Gettysburg Address, written in Lincoln's own hand. The copy on display on this very spot is known to scholars as "The Everett Copy."
