Memphis, Tennessee 38103 United States 901.531.7827 On This Very Spot is located the Memphis Cotton Exchange building, which served as the heart of America's cotton trade when "Cotton was King." The present building was erected in 1939. On This Very Spot, in the space previously occupied by the actual trading floor, is located The Cotton Museum, an interactive look at cotton and the cotton trade. On This Very Spot were set scenes in John Grisham's 1991 novel The Firm. This is the building in which the main character sets up his clandestine office. The exterior of the building is shown in the 1993 movie starring Tom Cruise. Today, a plaque next to the entrance pays tribute to Grisham. Submitted by: Marty Francis Visit This Very Spot
