On This Very Spot on April 26, 1564, the newborn William Shakespeare was baptized.

On This Very Spot in 1605, the retired Shakespeare made a donation that qualified him for burial in the chancel.

On This Very Spot on April 25, 1616, Shakespeare was buried in the chancel.

On This Very Spot several years after his death, a memorial bust was added that was commissioned by his wife, and which is therefore thought to be the most genuine likeness of The Bard.

On This Very Spot were subsequently buried Shakespeare's wife and daughter.
