On This Very Spot railroad engineer Casey Jones was buried following his heroic death on April 30, 1900.

Casey Jones's gravesite is located in the section of the cemetery closest to the road about halfway between the two gates.

Condition: The gravesite and memorial are in good shape and clearly readable. However, the cemetery is in a declining neighborhood.

Public Access: This is an operating cemetery, but it is surrounded by a chain link fence and is open only on Sunday during daylight hours.

Parking: Free parking is available onsite.

Location: Jackson is located on I-40 in west Tennessee about 90 miles from Memphis and about 110 miles from Nashville. The cemetary is about ten minutes south of I-40.

Nearest Major Airport: Memphis International

Directions: From Casey Jones Village, continue south on Highway 45 Bypass, then turn left at the light onto N. Parkway. After about four miles, turn right onto Royal Street, then left onto Hardee.

From I-40 West, take the Christmasville Road exit, which turns into Royal Street at N. Parkway. Turn left onto Hardee Street.
