On This Very Spot in March 1957, Elvis Presley paid $102,000 for this 1939 home and the 14 acres it sits on. The home had been named Graceland by its original owners. Elvis and his parents lived here for the remainder of their lives.

On This Very Spot on Thursday, August 17, 1977, Elvis died of a heart attack at the age of 42.

On This Very Spot on October 2, 1977, the bodies of Elvis and his mother Gladys were re-interred in the Meditation Garden.

On This Very Spot on June 7, 1982, Priscilla Presley officially opened the mansion to public tours.
