On This Very Spot from 1723 until his death in 1759,
George Frideric Handel lived and worked. It was here that he composed some of the greatest music in history, including
Zadok the Priest (1727),
Messiah (1741), and
Fireworks Music (1749).
On This Very Spot in 1968 and 1969, American rock guitarist
Jimi Hendrix lived during the height of his short-lived fame. Hendrix lived in the adjacent 23 Brook Street, which has been incorporated into the Handel House Museum and includes an exhibit on Hendrix.
